What we are about

First we must build a strong foundation. Our #1 and #2 objectives are to build a world class team and ensure a culture that force-amplifies this exceptional talent. The core of our culture is that we are co-owners building something extraordinary together. And just as importantly we're sharing a great life adventure.

To further force-amplify our team with the right culture, we are committed to radical transparency (with the single exception of the cap table which resides with our law firm). Not only is nothing off limits, everything is actively shared even informative board conversations. Anytime there is important learning we issue a call report or even a detailed transcript that goes to the whole team. Everyone's learning. When smart, committed people have context, they should be empowered to make their own good decisions. As long as True North is defined - the vision and the strategy - smart people can solve for how they will achieve that goal.

The difference with Netflix's culture is that we also believe in a Growth Mindset (as defined by Carol Dweck). People can show up as their whole authentic selves - vulnerabilities and all. We also show up as missionaries. While GSR ventures invested because they recognize a 100x valuation opportunity, none of us are mercenaries.

Most of the team has seen a loved one suffer or even lose their life. Or has lived experience. As a result of this all, there is a level of care, camaraderie, and selflessness here that is highly unusual. Despite the camaraderie, we can and must energetically disagree with one another to achieve deeper insights as long as its done within a context of respect.

How does such a team grow its performance potential? When we learn to support each other giving and receiving constructive feedback. There is a continuum of comfort doing this - some are fearful of such feedback. We embrace it nonetheless and grow from it wherever we can.
